Blueberry & Blackberry Coconut Elixir

I'm a berry lover and so when I saw these blueberries and blackberries, I couldn't resist. I've been working on ideas for rejuvenating recipes to create a replenishing beauty cleanse program. Radiance boosting recipes require fresh raw superfoods like blueberries. I found incredibly fresh coconuts at my local Asian supermarket. The coconut I used for this blended elixir was extra succulent, so scooping the coconut meat out of the husk was a buttery cinch. I didn't have very much time this morning for elaborate recipe creating. Even as I write this I may be late for my workout in the gym and workday. But I am dedicated to creating rejuvenating recipes like this for my own regimen as well as to share with you. It's called an elixir rather than a smoothie because I added an aphrodisiac tonic and some acidophilus to the blend.  I'm experimenting with tonics and herbs at the moment. Also, I refrained from adding anything too sugary like honey, so if you need to sweeten your elixir, add dates. Beautifying, healthy and simple.

Maybe I'll figure out a little system of making elixirs like this for an entire day and put them in jars to take along. I really would like to drink down hydrating coconut water mixtures more often.

I couldn't wait to share this with you. I hope you like it.

Blueberry & Blackberry Coconut Elixir

  • 1 cup blueberries & blackberries

  • 1 tsp maca root tincture

  • 3 tablespoons liquid acidophilus probiotic

  • 3 dates, halved and pitted

  • 2 tablespoons flax seed

Open the coconut (carefully) and pour the entire contents of the water into a high speed blender.

Scoop the meat out of the husk of the coconut and put into blender with the coconut water.

Add all the blueberries and blackberries, flax seed, maca root, dates and acidophilus.

Blend well, serve and glow.
